This travel bug is to commemorate the centenary of the maiden voyage of the famous White Star Liner RMS Titanic.
The travel bug bears the city flag of Belfast where the Titanic was built and has an enamel badge attached depicting the iconic liner.
In this significant year of 2012 when the world has celebrated the 100 year anniversary of this ill fated craft it would be fitting to have my travel bug visit the same ports that the Titanic visited in 1912.
Starting from my “home” cache, GC3W1KP, the travel bug would like to visit Belfast and then move on to Southampton, travel to Cherbourg, make it’s way to Cobh in Cork (known as Queenstown at the time of the Titanic) and finally, unlike the real ship, reach New York Harbour and then travel safely home again by the most direct route.
I am very happy to have it take any route and visit many places on the way as long as it reaches …
