Current Goal

This quilt wants to travel south and east and visit locations where a Civil War soldier might have been. Please take pictures of it if you can and sign your name in the back with the marker provided. Eventually, it would like to get to False Alarm Cache in Virginia: N 37° 06.333 W 076° 29.214 or a cache nearby.

About This Item

Civil War Soldier Quilt

It is a miniature reproduction quilt inspired by the quilts made by women both in the North and South during the Civil War to supply soldiers' needs. These quilts got a lot of wear and tear, so hardly any have remained. They are extremely rare (only four are known to exist now), in spite of the fact it is estimated that the Sanitary Commission alone made and distributed over 250.000 quilts.

I'm cleaning in the photos. I describe and log TBs photographed in the last more than 13 years variously after events and caches, codes from logbooks, from lists published at events and the like. Thank you

I'm glad to say this is at its destination. I was going near there today on my way to Trader Joe's so I made a quick detour. WOOHOO!

I happened to notice this TB's mission so I grabbed it. I'm glad I looked! I have already visited False Alarm, but I do go by there regularly in VA. I can actually complete its mission!!!
