About This Item

Smilin' Joe Fission

This little guy is a traveler. I bought him at "The Glen" shopping mall in Glen Waverly, Victoria, Australia. We flew back to Georgia, USA together. After a short stay with us he took off again and we haven't heard from him since. If you see him, please log where you found him and where you moved him to.

I usually only grab bugs when on vacation. This is one of those times, so an adventure Joe will have!!

  • GC1RY8W-Hidden River Cave Joe decided to do an Earthcache. This was in Kentucky.
  • Wigwam Village, Cave City, KY Joe continued exploring near Cave City, Kentucky. This place lets you stay in a wigwam. No 5-star here, so you better stay for the novelty.
  • Frozen Niagra, Mammoth Cave, KY Joe took a tour at Mammoth Cave. Here he is in front of the famous Frozen Niagra formation.
  • Mammoth Cave, KY Joe visited Mammoth Cave. The worlds largest and longest cave system.
  • Dinosaur World, Cave City, KY Joe wanted to see some other reptiles, so he hit Dinosaur World after Mammoth Cave. Joe hung out with many of his buddies like Mr. Triceratops.
  • Firehawk-Kings Island, OH Joe rode one of Travel Channel's extreme terror rides. Firehawk at Kings Island in Mason, OH.
  • The Beast-Kings Island, OH Joe also ride the longest, and arguably the best, wooden roller coaster in the land.
  • Delirium-Kings Island, OH Joe wasn't afraid of heights, but I was. This scared the @#$@# out of us.
  • Diamondback-Kings Island, OH And finally, Joe rode the newest ride in Kings Island in 2009. Diamondback! This was awesome and Joe's favorite ride.
  • Top Thrill Dragster-Cedar Point Joe went up to Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH. He rode one of Travel Channel's extreme terror rides: Top Thrill Dragster.
  • Magnum XL-200-Cedar Point Joe rode a 20 year classic at Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH. The Magnum was identified as a roller coaster landmark by the American Coaster Enthusiasts organization for achieving many "firsts".
  • Mantis-Cedar Point Joe rode the Mantis at Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH. The Mantis is a standup roller coaster which provided a unique experience. Joe's short legs challenged the restraint system.
  • Notre Dame - South Bend, IN I didn't know Joe was Irish? He asked to go see the stadium where the movie Rudy inspired him. Ok Joe. You're the boss!
  • Shedd Aquarium - Chicago, IL Joe wanted to visit some of his fellow animal kingdom brothren, so we took him to Shedd Aquarium.
  • Shedd Aquarium - Chicago, IL Joe posed for a picture with one of his friends the bullfrog at Shedd Aquarium.
  • Sears Tower - Chicago, IL Joe checked out the Sears Tower. The tallest building in the Western hemisphere.
  • Mississippi River - Keokuk, IA Joe crossed the Mississippi at the Illinois/Keokuk border. A damn and generating station provide electricity to the area. His travels are winding down.
