Situated in Kimberley Reserve. Bring gumboots when it's wet, bring a picnic when it's fine. Next to a great river for your dog to swim in (Pepsi says).
For some years, this has been the site of the Organic River Festival on Wellington Anniversary Weekend (late January). If you still feel like a hippy and/or you like home made wine and other wonderful organics, this is the time and place to go. Needless to say, this is NOT the time to look for the cache, as the amount of inquisitive muggles is astounding.
The rest of the year, this is a quiet peaceful location with lots of interesting birdlife and the occasional muggle walking their dog.
As a matter of fact, you can drive all the way to photo 1 - just follow the arrows along the path.
The cache, a 700ml round Sistema container, is wrapped in a black plastic bag. It has a good supply of goodies:
- smilie face stamp
- disguise spectacles
- airdale terrier figurine
- handcrafted lizard
- number slide game
- frog fridge magnet
- pencils and notebook (please leave)
To get you excited, it has three world travelers:
- Ontario Geo Coin
- Polizei motorbike TB (needs to travel west around the world to Germany and back)
- Porsche Spyder Sportscar TB (on its way to Monaco for the next F1 race)
Well worth the visit if you're on your way to Wellington!
