Chopsticks Multi-Cache
ssmc4: Too much work going on around the GZ, so will archive this one (and possibly plan a Chopsticks 2?).
Many thanks to all who attempted Chopsticks - I got some great feedback.
Cheers, ssmc4

This multi-cache will take you on a stroll through Melbourne's Chinatown, where you can enjoy the sights, sounds, smells & tastes of this bustling precinct. Since the 1800's, the Chinese have made enormous contributions to the Australian economy, society and culture. One of these is mmmmmmm.......... Chinese food!
This geocache journey starts at one of the recognised entrances to Chinatown, on the corner of Swanston St and Lt. Bourke St.
TIPS:
1) This is a themed cache and you can only swap.....you guessed it.......Chopsticks!
2) Satellite reception can be dodgy along Lt. Bourke St, so we've provided some street references to aid navigation.
3) This journey will test your powers of observation and require you to count things as you walk along.
4) You will need to walk somewhere between 500 & 1500 metres.
5) Read all instructions carefully.
WP1: S37 48.746 E144 57.920
On the large Chinese rectangular gateway Arch, you will see some red rectangles on a horizontal line of blue patterned fretwork.
A = no. of red rectangles (only on one side)
WP2: S37 48.746 E144 57.920
Restaurant counting! There are lots of restaurants of different varieties in Chinatown, but you should only concentrate on those restaurants/cafes with an entrance on Lt. Bourke St., between Swanston & Exhibition Sts (do not count the Village Centre food court).
B= no. of restaurants/cafes with the word "Village" in their name.
WP3: S37 48.746 E144 57.920
Streetlight counting! A few metres north of the Arch you will see a Chinese-themed streetlight (with 4 transparent spheres). You will need to count the number of these streetlights between here and the next Arch at Russell St.
C = no. of Chinese streetlights between Swanston & Russell Sts.
WP4: S37 48.729 E144 57.988
At the corner of Celestial Ave. is a plaque telling of the pioneers of the Chinese community here.
Approx. year of settlement = 18DE
WP5: S37 48.677 E144 58.160
Have a rest in Cohen Place Plaza. There are a number of bollards which would be very uncomfortable to sit on (then again, you might find it pleasurable ........who are we to judge?) Just down Cohen Place is the Chinese Museum.
F = no. of stone lions in this plaza and in front of the Chinese Museum.
G = no. of the thick brass-topped black bollards surrounding this rectangular plaza.
Continue walking east (and observing restaurant names) until you reach the last Arch at Exhibition St.

E144 (4C+D+G).(C-A)(G-A)(2E-F)
Caches in the CBD are always at risk of being muggled so we’d appreciate your care in retrieving and replacing this cache - it can be a very busy area and there are also buildings which overlook the GZ.
Remember, this is a themed cache and you should only swap chopsticks (reasonable quality ones would be much appreciated). The cache container is well disguised, a la caught@work’s excellent CCCC series, and will hold 2-3 pairs of chopsticks. It is in 2 parts - please keep the bottom part in-situ and carefully unscrew the top section, which holds the goodies.
We hope you enjoy the very first ssmc4 cache. After your successful find, why don’t you go and celebrate with some dumplings!
