Geocache Description:

A quick stop on a mountain pass with a view worth a King's ransom!

The cache is by a rest stop and cairn at the highest point of the Crown Range road between Queenstown and Wanaka. At 1077m, this road is the highest sealed road pass in the country.

As such, during the winter please follow ALL posted warnings for road conditions and requirements for chains.

[Update] After having 2 previous ammo cans taken from this spot, there is now just a small container, with a nearby ammo can cache just up the 4WD track.

There's the choice of a 1 hour or 6 hour walk from here during the summer months, both of which provide breathtaking views and are a great break for those suffering from the twists and turns of the road up to this point!
