Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the Silverstream valley.

The area used to be a major source of water for Dunedin but now days there is less reliance on this lovely clear stream.

The name for this cache came from my experience when settting it. As I was there in the late evening the sandflies were making the most of a last feeding opportunity for the day. When I looked into the stream a large eel swam slowly by and all the way back to the car I was serenaded by a morepork.

On a warm still evening this place is magic.

The satelite coverage on the way to the cache site is patchy and when going under patches of dense canopy the signal is lost for short periods. Around the cache site there is good coverage with 6 metre accuracy.

GZ is for a spot 8 metres from the cache. It should be fairly obvious in which direction to look.

The cache is a 1.5l camo painted snaplock container hidden at ground level and not visible from any distance.
