Kuljak Island was used for sanitary landfill or 25 years before being closed in the early 1980’s. In 1997 it was rebirthed into a thriving bushland and wetland with an abundance of native flora, birdlife, ants, mosquitoes and geocaches along the 2.6km trail around the outside of the island.
