The Dawson Mine utilises two 16km long overland conveyor belts to transport coal to the preparation plant (the wash plant) located on site. Once it has been through processing, it is transported by rail to Gladstone and exported by sea from there.
This cache will take you down alongside the conveyors and you may even get to see some mining operations close to the road.
This is a quick park and grab. It's best to avoid 6:00am and 6:00pm or you will get caught up in shift-change traffic. As always in this area, please watch for wildlife and livestock on the roads.
