The Trail of the Magic Mushrooms
Welcome to the Trail....it is a collaborative effort...cachers have contributed their creations for you to find, but have not placed them, so they will be able to discover their own hide.
Thankyou to all cachers who supported this trail and contributed a "shroom"...special thanks to cachers who contributed a more than one creation, some on behalf of other cachers to get them on the trail too...there are some very clever creations....i hope u enjoy them!
Although you will want to speed along, as we all do on trails, please do be considerate of other cachers efforts and take care handling and rehiding these caches to keep them safe...please do report and probs with these caches so they can be maintained.
I hope this trail is a grand experience, with lots of surprises....coordinates were particularly difficult to attain in some spots, GPS struggles out there!...so, very specific hints given to, hopefully, ensure a find...this trail is more about what u find...not so much about the difficulty of the hunt!
The roads have deteriorated with recent big rains...there has been some welcome grading to improve the roads in the last few weeks, i believe, because logging has commenced in the area...the worst part of the road, for the entire trail, is at he bottom of widow maker (cache of same name here)...the road is still passable by 2wd with care...from here road improves although the first 500 metres or so up hill requires slow and careful driving as big drop off on one side and drain on the other...road is narrow....if you have a UHF radio, u can check no logging trucks are coming down the hill (UHF29)...if, like most, u dont have this, i recommend hopping out of your car at widow maker cache and listen for traffic coming down the hill...logging trucks only an issue if you are tackling the trail during the week.
Enjoy your hunt!
