Location:
Welcome, to the Arch of Victory and the start of the Avenue of Honour.
The Arch of Victory and Avenue of Honour are the result of the Ballarat community`s desire, over 100 years ago, to create a living, tangible and fitting memorial in recognition of service and sacrifice during World War 1. The Avenue of Honour is a living memorial to 3,801 of Ballarat district`s sons and daughters who served in World War 1. It was planted in eight stages between 1917 and 1919 along 22 kilometres of roadway, making it the longest and most intact commemorative planting in Australia.
Stealth needed, can get extremely busy during school times.
Note: Cache keeps getting pinched by kids so now go to the lamp post/power pole behind the tree and look low.
