The area where this cache is located was a hive of activity in the 1950s and 1960s as about 200m upstream on the West Kiewa River (which you can see from the cache ) a WEIR was built to make the river water back up to form a SWIMMING POOL that the community could use. Access was from the East side of the River.
The location of this cache is accessed from Simmonds Creek Road. No parking problems. Just downstream the creek meets the West Kiewa Branch of the Kiewa River.
The cache is a small plastic waterproof container containing a logbook and pencil.
