From its source to its mouth, the Mersey River flows through varied topography, rich agricultural land and many interesting centres of population. The Meandering the Mersey (MTM) series will follow, as much as practical, the course of the Mersey River with caches being placed at varying intervals. We trust you will enjoy the area.
This part of the Mersey River is very tidal. At low tide there are extensive mud flats with its own ecology. At high tide the water comes close to the back of the Tarleton Fire Brigade Station. This marked change in water levels certainly creates changing views during each day. On the other side of the river is another cache in the series MTM - Contrasting Views. Whilst the view from the other side provides contrasts including use of the river for rowing and water craft at high tide, there is no similar activity on this side of the river apart from occasional fishing.
This cache is a 400mL Sistema with limited room for swaps. Access may be restricted when the volunteers are involved in Fire Brigade training.
