Somewhere Out There
Ever followed the geocaching trail to your destination? Just to the next cache... Well sometimes these roads can lead you to some very nice places. After all its not always the destination that is the most memorable. This cache was placed on one of these trips. Fergzter often passes quite near to here but thought he might take a different road one day and happened upon this place. Thought others would enjoy it too.
Placed on the shores of Lake Corangamite there are several interseing features nearby that hark back to a time when volancoes were king across the south west districts of Victoria. On a clear day you can see Mt Elephant near Derrinallum to the west. To the south you can see Red Rock near Alvie. Then of course there is Lake Corangamite which is a permanent salt lake.
Access via Wood Rd. Which is a well made gravel road which should allow access to near GZ with a 2WD all year around. You will need to walk the last 100m or so. Please make sure to rehide the cache to hide from muggle eyes.
