The Pilliga wetlands has a beautiful walk alongside the Billabong that leads to the quaint little village of Pilliga. You can see lots of birdlife if you do the walk in the early morning. There are turtles fish & yabbies in the billabong and if you are lucky to come at the right time of year you may see a turtle laying her eggs on the banks.
There are numerous places to sit along the way that describe interesting locations along the 2.7 km trail which is home to the Gomeroi people who were the original inhabitants of this area. There are numerous scarred trees along the trail also.
The cache should be easy to find and is quite weatherproof. You will need a writing implement as there is no room in the container for one.
If you're a grey nomad, like me, you can park you caravan across the road at the Bore Baths and relax in the mineral water after your hard earned find !
