The Mayne club was founded in 1924 and competed in the QAFL competition.
In it's proud history it punched above it's weight and won 15 QAFL Premierships between 1927 and 1982.
They played their home games at this ground from 1942-1948 and then again from 1968-1998.
This ground also hosted many QAFL Grand finals and we attended many in the 1980's and early 1990's.
The institute of art building across the street was formerly Mayne's club house.
Growing up in the area, many of my school holidays were spent in this clubhouse playing pool for 20c and drinking double sars' and lemon, lime and bitters.
This cache was placed whilst out wandering with GD and Cousins CB and S.
Cache is an eclipse tin.
Happy Hunting!
