Geocache Description:

Withers Way is my Fourth Geocache. And part of my series on Eltham Bridges.

In grade 3 I did a school project on the bridges around Eltham.  So I have used this research to start a series of caches in these locations.  After receiving nominations in the 2015 Victorian geocaching awards we thought we had better continue the series.

This bridge on the corner of Withers Way connects the Eltham High School to Main Road, Eltham.   It is an interesting walk to Main Road along what looks like a  quaint little country lane, ending at an old cottage.

Depending on the water flow it looks like a small creek, and sometimes barely flows.  But after nearby rain the water rises and flows quickly, and  then returns to a trickle within a day or 2.  It's hard to imagine but the original bridge was damaged when flooded in 2004 and 2005.  The old concrete buttresses can be seen below the bridge on the west side.

This cache is on the Diamond Creek Trail.  You will need at either the rear of the Eltham Leisure Centre for closest access or at the main carport of the Eltham Leisure Centre Carpark, and pick up a few other nearby caches

CACHE

The cache is a Bison tube.

IMPORTANT this area is a high muggle area and a popular haunt.  Please make sure you hide the cache fully and don’t leave the tail exposed
