The Museum of Perth opened in October 2015 and chronicles the social, cultural, political and architectural history of Perth. The Museum is located in Grand Lane, whose name relates to the former Grand Theatre which used to occupy a prominent site on the south-western side of the laneway. Grand Lane was upgraded in 2011 as part of the City's laneways enhancement strategy and features a series of artwork along the length of the lane including a 99-metre mural on the western wall.
