Tawera (Morning Star) (Auckland) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

dagonNZ: While any one visiting the site would think this is public land, and many of us locals (I'm a former local now) treat it as such. I will accept that it is in fact private land; and will archive this cache.

Can any one retrieve the cache container? I'm nursing a broken collar bone so no climbing for me for some months.

Geocache Description:

Tawera  means "Morning Star" in maori. The Morning star is a name given to the planet Venus when it appears in the east before sunrise (as though heralding the coming of the morning).

In addition there is the Fish: (Tawera spissa).

This fish has a small venus shell; it is very abundant on most open sandy beaches. It is easily recognised by its colour pattern of brown zigzag markings.

Located on the very busy GreenLane West on a street  corner that could almost be called a park

A small cache containing only a log book and tiny pencil.

Cache is ATTACHED to object please leave it that way, base can be unscrewed but lid should remain attached.

Tree climbing skills required - i did it with out equipment, but others may need rope, etc.

Tawera rd, is the closest parking (NO right turn from GreenLane West)
