Geocache Description:

Quick park & grab just off Silverdale Road.

Baines Hill is the name of the hill which leads to Warragamba & Silverdale which proved to be too much of a menace for the trucks supplying Warragamba dam during it's construction.

During the dam construction, supply trucks from the quarry at Emu Plains struggled to climb Baines Hill which slowed the supply chain to the dam. This in turn led to the construction of a 25km aerial ropeway carrying 600 buckets from the Emu Plains Quarry to the dam site. Each bucket took 5 hours to make the journey & return to the quarry. Sadly there is nothing left of the ropeway nowadays.

Small cache with a little room for small swaps.
