Geocache Description:

Another exciting 4WD challenge for those keen on getting to out the way locations.  The track takes you to Hugh Gorge and Birthday Waterhole, following the Hugh River and includes sections of soft sand and river crossings (you may be luck to experience some water).  Please keep to the main track except to access campsites along the river.

Stuart Pass is nestled amongst mountains such as Paisly Bluff and Brinkley Bluff in the Northern Territory, approximately 56km from Alice Springs.  The track follows John McDouall Stuart's route through the MacDonnell Ranges. His explorations between 1860 and 1862 opened Central Australia to white settlement in the 1870's.

A 4WD is essential for this journey, obey signs and protect the reserve, this is an access track for the Larapinta Trail.

Have a cuppa and enjoy this beautiful spot. If you are heading to or finishing section 4 or 5 of the Larapinta Trail, this is a good spot to stretch your legs.

The cache is a round container and is loaded with goodies.
