Federation Walk started as a community tree planting on weed infested railway land in 1996.The Eudlo and Ilkley Landcare Group planted the trees and dug ponds, maintained with weeding and watering. The reserve was named "Federation Walk" during the centenary of federation in 2001. Hopefully, the area can be rediscovered and you can enjoy this forest planted more than 15 years ago as seedlings. Bring your own pen (and you may need a log extraction tool).
Federation Walk started as a community tree planting on weed infested railway land in 1996. The Eudlo and Ilkley Landcare Group planted the trees and dug ponds, maintained with weeding and watering for many years. The Eudlo Community Conservation Reserve was named "Federation Walk" during the centenary of federation in 2001.Located only 200m from the centre of the small township of Eudlo, with access from Highlands Road and Rosebed Street behind the rural fire brigade on the other side of the rail tracks, it has been somewhat forgotten in recent years. The walk may be a little overgrown in parts, but it is not difficult to locate the track. Hopefully, this small reserve can be rediscovered as you search for this cache and you can enjoy this forest of trees planted more than 15 years ago as small seedlings. The cache is a micro, so bring your own pen (and you may need a log extraction tool unless you have very small fingers!). The Blue Quandong (Elaecarpus grandis) is a useful timber, has edible fruit and food for flying foxes and possums. Congratulations to us3scouts & sierra1 for FTF!
