Geocache Description:

Bremer Bay is a coastal town situated on the south coast of Western Australia in the Great Southern region between Albany and Esperance, at the mouth of the Bremer River.

Bremer Bay is 515 kilometres  southeast of the state capital, Perth, and 180 kilometres east of Albany.

Bremer Bay is known for its beautiful beaches; the main beach is only 10 minutes walk from town. A marina at Fishery Beach offers full boating facilities.
The bay was named by well-regarded surveyor, John Septimus Roe, who visited the area in 1831 on a ship named the HMS Tamar with captain Sir James Bremer. The town was originally named Wellstead, but the local petition in 1951 was in favour of the current name. The change of name was approved and the new name gazetted in 1962.

Tooreburrup Hill is a lookout that offers 180 degree views and the location of a TV and FM receiver tower.

The cache was placed to add some caches in the town as Bremer Bay is a gem of a place and well worth the effort and detour from the main road. THe cache is an easy drive by but take time to take in the surrounding area views and read the plaques with historical information.

The cache is a small container with only a log and small wire puzzle. There is room for some swaps but I placed the cache the day we left town and I  had no goodies to put into it. We will stock it up on our next visit.
