As a result I am archiving this cache to keep from continually showing up in search lists and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Geocache Description:

This is the first cache we are laying- I felt that Fairfield was under-represented in geocaches, and since I grew up here I'm determined to highlight some of its interesting landmarks.

The cache is in a small container only big enough for the log book and pen.

Dr Bland's tree at Oakdene park seems like a hidden treasure to me, most people drive by without noticing how magnificent this tree is.
Planted in 1850 by Dr William Bland, the tree now stands at approx 13 m high and 30 m wide. You will notice that it is split at the centre- the result of a lightning storm in the 1930s.

A good cache to find with the kids as there is a playground right next to the tree and the tree itself is great for climbing.

No pencil in cache
