A 20 to 40 minute walk around a reserve not often visited.
For many years I drove past this reserve twice a day, before I eventually took the time to go for a wander. It was well worth the visit, so I stopped regularly after that.
The September 2010 earthquake caused significant damage, closing the reserve for over a year. It has re-opened and has been improved with lots more planting, but the central boardwalk is still officially closed.
The reserve may be closed at night.
