Welcome to the “Gecko trail” a 13 cache series trail spaning over Seven Hills and Norman Park. We strongly suggest to walk or ride the series for maximum enjoyment
You can park at camp Hill Bowls Club and start your adventure. This is also the car park for Perth St Park , also two other GM62 caches located there. Caches 1- 13 will lead you directly back to Perth St Park . The series will take you though suburbia, Bushland & Parkland and along a series of Pathways as a part of the Suburb of Seven Hills. The pathways were first created around 1925 as a part of newly subdivided land.
On 17th of February 1925 Mr Oates of R.G Oates Estates Limited inserted a notice in the Brisbane Courier stating he had secured from the War Service Homes Commission the “Seven Hills Estate” and asking the public to subscribe to a debenture Issue in 100,000 Shares of £1 each. On the 16th of May a further notice advertising “Seven Hills Gardens” and inviting the people to come out and inspect the estate, the splendid elevation and exquisite views. A free motor service would leave Mr Oates office from the city between 1.30 and 3 pm and light refreshments would be served on arrival. The Birth of a new Brisbane suburb was created .
