status quo: As there's been no cache to find for some time, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. Geocache Description:

A quick puzzle that leads to a small cache.

Take care with children as cliff just beyond the cache.

There is no cache at the given coordinates, but it can be found within 5km. It is hidden at S 46 00.ABC E 170 14.DEF.

Though none of them live here, the following people who have lived in Aotearoa have some information that will help you locate the cache.

Euan went to France in March 1C1E. He flew across Cook Straight in 19B0.
Mary Bernard first arrived in Auckland in 1A57.
Cellist Hamilton was born in Christchurch in 190F and studied in Sydney in the 19D0's.

With their help, the cache should soon be in your hands. It is easy to access, and there is no need to scramble up or down banks, or wade through rivers. However, there may be mud or stones to slow those who are not wary.
