Two Bob Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

agap2: Well, I have never had to archive a cache before, but there is just no real way to replace this one here. I might have to place it somewhere else. Thanks to the 8 who gave this one a favourite.

Geocache Description:

I liked Ms Wigs nearby 'One Bob' so much, I thought I would put another one out there.

Two Bob used to buy a lot back in the day... these days however, two bob doesn't go too far!!

Here are some facts about two 'Bob' (2 Shillings, also known as one Florin) Florin derives from the city of Florence (or Firenze) in Italy and frequently refers to the (fiorino d'oro) gold coin struck in 1252.

This money format was plagiarized in other countries and the word florin is used, for example, in relation to the Dutch guilder and more recently relating to a British pre-decimal silver coin (later nickel silver) piece also known as a two shilling 'bit'.

The slang term for a shilling was a bob.

Many thanks to Ms Wig for helping me with some of the details of this cache. (byop).
