Find and Sign Eucalyptus Ficifolia Traditional Cache
MalanDi: It is disappointing to have to close a cache down especially this one with good camo.
It has been muggled twice so now I am closing it down.

This is a very good specimen of eucalypt commonly known as "Red Flowering Gum".
Like many of the flowering gums it is a native of Western Australia.
There are over 300 varieties of eucalypt.
Eucalyptus ficifolia is a showy mid-sized eucalyptus suitable as a street tree. The young leaves show a beautiful gray green with reddish stems. The flowers can be vivid red, magenta, pink or white and attract many nectar gatherers. If bees are a concern, this tree should be planted away from traffic areas. Flowering occurs year round. The woody 1" pods can be used in dry arrangements and add more interest. Not suitable for lawn areas as this tree prefers a dryer root zone.
