The Last Ride (Auckland) Traditional Cache
Growly Bear: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact us when you have the cache repaired, and assuming it still meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

The cache is placed near the road leading into Purewa Cemetery, a road that is the last ride for those who now lie at Purewa.
Purewa Cemetery was established in 1889 by the Anglican Church and although it is now administered by a trust board, it still remains one of the Anglican Church’s most prized assets.
Many notable people were laid to rest/cremated at Purewa including; Former Prime Minister Robert Muldoon, Actor Kevin Smith, Anglican Clergyman the Ven. Sir. Kingi Ihaka and in 2008 Sir Edmund Hillary was cremated there before having his ashes scattered.
Cache contains log book and caching note.
Please be careful when searching for and replacing the cache as it is rather prone to slipping down. Please replace exactly as found, using a stick if needed to replace the cache.
GPS was wandering when I placed the cache due to heavy tree cover but I averaged the co-ords a few times and I seem to have a pretty reasonable lock on its location. Please advise if co-ords are out.
