The Albany 100: 90 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

tangowithcupcake: Thanks to everyone who enjoyed the series. Have managed to speak with lots of you afterwards and we are pleased that the Albany 100 did give everyone a buzz as well as being a drive through some nice countryside. Too bad that maintenance to keep the 100 intact became a bit difficult. Have fun everyone.

Geocache Description:

There are 90 minutes in a soccer match

What is the Albany 100?

Ever wanted to get out there and do a huge amount of caches in one day? The Albany 100 combines a drive in the countryside with the chance of picking up 100 caches in one caching blitz

How far do you drive?

About 100km on a mixture of gravel and sealed roads

How difficult are the hides?

Most are easy; nothing is smaller than a film canister. A few camos – no nanos – no grasstrees. The first twenty are dead easy, then they start to get smaller and trickier. The last twenty may slow you down a bit. Cache 100 is an ammo box and is the only one suitable for swaps, TB’s or GC’s

Cache 100

You will need to collect some numbers as you go around to give the location of the final cache. Pay particular attention to the "smiley" cache containers.

Logging requirements

You will need to take your own pen as none are provided. Write your team name and date in all 100 logs. DEFINITELY No calling cards. No stamps. No stickers. The record sheet provided may help you record your finds while on the road and makes things a bit easier later on

Please click here to download record sheet.

Logging your finds online

Copy and paste logs are quite acceptable. Make sure you say how many you got and how long it took you

Safety

The course should be driven in order from cache 1 to cache 100. On sealed roads every cache is on the left of the road with a safe place to pull over. On gravel roads caches are occasionally on the right hand side. Please exercise caution
