Geocache Description:

The young Irishman James Fenton arrived on the Forth estuary looking for farm land and settled in Fenton's Mouth, now called Turners Beach. You won't have to get your feet wet as a westward track leads around to GZ.

Date settled 1X4Y. Date of cairn 1W6X

GZ is S41o0W.7XX E146o15.Y22

James Fenton's early attempts to farm the marshy land in this area were fraught with problems. The soil was saline and substandard. He eventually moved to higher ground and was moderately successful remaining in the area until 1879 when he retired to Launceston.

Feel free to wander through Gables Park (named after nearby The Gables house originally an Inn built in 1850) and then take a fairly easy stroll to GZ after solving the puzzle.

This is our first cache, a 1L black sistema with usual swaps but also includes some magnets, wristbands, flipcards and pens that are from beyondblue and Anglicare because 1 in 5 Australians suffer a mental illness in any 12 month period. If you or someone you love are not managing and on the edge, help is available.

On your way out of Turners Beach, if it's strawberry season, you can pick your own juicy fresh berries at the local Strawberry Farm and bag the cache there too.
