Welcome to
Mitchell Freeway Cycle
Path Mint Tin Mayhem
A geocache trail specifically designed for cachers to use their
geobikes to obtain "smileys", the trail covers 35km one way by
bicycle with the added bonus of being able to return with your bike
to your starting point. If you start at the Perth end you can
collect the caches along the path to Currumbine and travel back to
Perth on the train or vice versa. Alternatively you may wish to
start at Stirling, Warwick or Whitfords or any other station along
the line and collect the caches to either end then hop on the train
to the other end and cache back to your starting point
However should you decide to collect the caches using your motor
vehicle one way is approx 45kms and over 6km walkto reach all the
caches. You will pass within 50 to 100m ( on the Freeway ) of most
of the caches and in some cases park within 40 - 50m of a cache but
to get to the cache will entail a round trip on foot of 600 to
1500m
Apart from the caches in this series there are six or seven more
within 50 to 60m of the cycle path and another 10 more within
500m
As the name suggests the caches are all mint tins, some are
camouflaged, some not. Some are in full view of muggles walking
past, others are hidden. Some are high up and others are down low.
Approx half the caches can be retreived without dismounting from
your geobike.
The caches contain just a logbook ( there is room for a small
trackable ) so you will need to provide your own writing stick.
On NO account should you stop in the Freeway
breakdown lane to retreive any of these caches
