Geocache Description:

This easy drive by roadside cache near the Howard's Quarry, which is located 2.5kms away from Angaston.

From the 1870's onwards, Angaston expanded and industries had become firmly established. Most of the towns buildings, particularly those in the main street made use of the marble quarried at the Angaston marble quarries.

Angaston's population during 2001 was approx 1900.

The most rain recorded at Howards Quarry in one day was 119mm, during one April day.

The area is fenced and some activity may remain. There is no need to enter the private property, so please do NOT enter without prior approval.

The small camo cache contains logbook, pencils & small swaps and is located along side the road & before the fence.

Enjoy!
