Mountain View #1 - Clarence Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Balayang: I am regretfully archiving this cache since unfortunately there has been no maintenance action noted, and only DNFs logged for over a year. Promised action in January has not occurred, and it and the cache appears to be abandoned.

Caches archived under these circumstances are unable to be Unarchived, and this location is now available for the placement of a new cache.

Geocache Description:

Albany has an abundance of great walk trails and this is the first in a series of three caches that will take you to a location on the side of one of Albany’s three Mounts. All of these locations have a seat close to the cache, so take a seat, take some time out and enjoy the views. See our beautiful town and coastal vistas from a different perspective.

Head past the gate in the corner of the car park and take a stroll along the Granite Trail and discover the beauty of Middleton Beach, the Albany Links, Emu Point and out to the Porongurup’s and Stirling’s. Both ranges can be clearly seen on a clear day. Watch the waves and surf roll into the beach at Middleton. Head south and take in Michelmas and Breaksea Islands and Bald Head. The cache can also be found if you take the trail from the top of the lookout.

Be aware parts of the trail over the granite may be slippery in winter time. Take the time to do the circuit and end up back at the monument. If you are a visitor to our beautiful city, another cache awaits further along the trail.

There is no need for any bush bashing. The Rainbow Coasters hope you enjoy a different view of this wonderful part of our world and enjoy Albany’s amazing views. You also get to learn more about the fantastic walk trails around Albany.

Enjoy, we do!!!
