The co-ordinates for the start of the trail are listed below. The car park is about 100 metres to the left and the goat track to the right! The trail has been marked previously by the Walkers and Runners group, and is a pleasant climb with some stunning views of this area. The cache is 406 mtrs up the trail (however this is as the crow flies) and the walk is considerably longer and very enjoyable.
The cache is a well stocked ammo box containing quite a selection of swaps. I have also released my Kiwi Memories Geocoin in this one.
This is a fairly strenuous walk - however Geoson SecretSquirrel-BJC and the other ACT Cachers would call it a walk in the park or a drive-by!
Be sure to wear strong walking shoes, a hat and bring plenty of water in the summer. (Today was lovely and cool with a cyclone warning out - a strong wind and just enough rain to keep us cool. and the Reluctant Companion carried the ammo box!!!!) Always be aware that snakes are part of the Australian bush and care should be taken. There are many scrub turkeys, and other bird life on the trail and also large numbers of rock wallabies, pretty face wallabies and also echidnas, goannas and frilly lizards if you are lucky. I hope you enjoy this special area of the Burdekin.
