"Ginninderra" is derived from an Aboriginal word meaning "sparkling
like the stars". This name was first given to a creek flowing
through the middle of Belconnen, which was later dammed to form
Lake Ginninderra (on which the Belconnen Town Centre is sited). If
you grab this cache in the afternoon then the 'Sparkles' should be
visible to the west, as long as the sun is shining and there is a
bit of a breeze.
It is around this Lake that Ja and Ra grew up. It is our home
and we love to take our children, Ju and So, to places around it
now. There are parks and paths and great spots to BBQ, walk the
Geohound or maybe even do a spot of fishing. The area immediately
below the cache is a good spot to wet a line.
The cache is a 500ml container so it will hold coins and swaps.
Please be aware of any muggles fishing below or walkers behind you
when you are at GZ.
First to find honours go to Eynowd and Dvixen
** Please be aware that snakes have been spotted near this
cache recently **
