This cache has been added as a tempter to increase visits to this beautiful area. Maccamob's Aquatic derby is the first you'll discover on this circuit, and I hope this cache will encourage you to complete the full circuit. It took us a little over 2 hours at a reasonable pace, so I suggest an average level of fitness is required. You'll be well rewarded with the views.
The best place to start is the Meikles Point picnic area which is reached from Myers Rd in Myrniong. Take the Pentland Hills exit, turn right, drive under the Freeway, and turn left onto Pentland Hills Rd. Follow until you drive back under the highway and immediately turn left onto Myers Rd.
The Werribee Gorge State Park is known for its rugged terrain and steep slopes and remains in a relatively natural state. Good quality comfortable hiking shoes are recommended. The Short Circuit Walk takes you along the aquaduct before turning away from the river at these coordinates: 37 39.560S 144 20.912E After locating the cache, continue along past the Eastern Viewpoint and turn right at the Short Circuit track. The coordinates here are: 37 39.616S 144 21.476E. This track takes you back to the start of your walk.
