This is the fourth is a series of caches called "When I survey." This is a little way south of the others but is well worth the drive.
This cache takes you to some of the pretty parts of the Clare Valley that are often missed. While in the area take the time to explore the Spring Gully Conservation Park. It is great in Winter and Spring. There are several fire trains and walking tracks worth exploring. In the area there is a great picnic spot and a look out that looks over Kybunga and out to St Vincents Gulf. After good rains, there is a great 'little' waterfall at the end of one of the walks. In Spring along this walk you will discover some rare native orchids.
When you arrive at the published coordinates you are looking for something that a surveyor may 'plant'. On it (Somewhere)you will find two important numbers will need to find the second waypoint and GZ.
"AB"
Once you have been to this first waypoint use the numbers "AB" to help you find to the second waypoint:
S 33°54.A81
E 138°36.09B
When you find this second waypoint you are again looking for something that looks like something a surveyor may 'plant'. On it (somewhere) you will find two important digits that you will need to find GZ.
"CD"
Once you have been to this second waypoint use all the numbers you have found to work out the coordinates for GZ
GZ =
S 33°54.ABB
E 138°34.CD7
Warning, the last leg takes you on a track that is recommended only in dry weather.
Happy Caching!
