The cache is situated at an old World War II fortification on Horn Island in the Torres Strait.
The area can be accessed by foot on a simple system of roads or for visitors passing through with less time on their hands, can book a guided tour of the island that incorporates GZ. The tour is operated by the Gateway Resort Horn Island, which also encompasses a museum covering the history of the Torres Straits.
For the more adventurous, the walk commences at the airport is approximately 6km return and should take you 1.5-2 hours, if you are fortunate enough to have your own transportation, the road can also be negotiated by vehicle.
From the road junction in position S10.35.559 E142.17.572 take the well-formed dirt road for approx. 400m (S10.35.574 E142.17.746), then take the left fork and follow it for a further 2.7km to GZ.
The cache is a medium sized plastic container with a screw on lid.
For those taking the tour option, the cache is hidden very close to the entrance to one of the ruins and will require extreme stealth.
At the time of placing, this was the most northerly cache in Australia.
