Geocache Description:

POLICE HAVE BEEN SCOURING LOCAL BUSHLAND IN MIRRABOOKA FOR CLUES IN THE SUSPECTED MURDER OF PERTH BUSINESSMAN, FRANK MARINOS.

Homicide Squad detectives believe they now know where the murder took place. Members of the search and rescue squad will this morning conduct a more intensive search of the area in the hope of finding evidence to the killing and possibly, the body of the victim itself.

The area of bush in question is commonly used for the illegal dumping of waste and unfortunately in more recent times, it has been used as a grisly dumping ground for murder victims.

Police suspect that Frank Marinos’s disappearance may be related to the activities of a local organised crime outfit that has previously been accused of kidnapping and murder. In all past cases, the victim’s bodies have been discovered, partially buried in shallow graves.

Police are hoping that the suspects, in their hurry, may have left behind items near the scene of the crime which will hopefully provide further clues.

Investigators say they have reason to believe that on the day Mr Marinos disappeared, he spent some hours as a passenger in a dark grey 1992 Holden Commodore sedan with two other males.

It has been suggested the men were involved in some sort of disagreement in a car-park off Thyme Road. It is from this point that Police will start their search.

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the argument or seen the car during the day.

Any member of the public that finds any items of interest or has any information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 immediately.
