Stargate P12130 TB Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Beagle Team: As per the previous logs, this cache looks to have been muggled. I was unable to find any trace of the container or any of the contents in the area. So sadly any travel bugs or coins in it are now probably lost.

Geocache Description:

With Stargate caches any trackable (travel bug or geocoin) arriving at the cache can be rapidly transported to another Stargate TB. The cache container is an ammo container.

The stargate operated by the U.S. Air Force's Stargate Command (SGC) at Cheyenne Mountain Operations Center near Colorado Springs, Colo., is one of a vast number of wormhole-generating "doors" that allow for near-instantaneous intergalactic travel.

Created millions of years ago by the Ancients, one of the earliest living beings in the universe, they are scattered throughout planets, with each stargate bearing a unique address, similar to a telephone number.

Stargates are made of the element Naquadah (sometimes transliterated from the original language as Naquada), a quartzite metal not found on Earth. A teleportational wormhole is generated when charged neutrinos are applied to Naquadah, the only known element that absorbs and energizes with neutrinos. This forms a stable, artificial wormhole that connects to another stargate. The derivative Naquadria is a powerful yet unstable fuel source; prolonged exposure to its radiation can cause mental disorders.

  • Trackablesarriving from other galaxies will be placed in the local duties ziplock. These trackables are available for retrieval. Any trackables visiting the cache on local duties should also go in this ziplock
  • If you leave trackables for transport to other galaxies (Stargates) should be left in the Stargate transportation ziplock and left in the cache for collection by the Stargate operator.  A log entry should indicate the Stargate address you wish the trackable to be transported to.

If a trackable is left at this cache with a valid Stargate address(see list of addresses below), the trackable will be transported to that specified Stargate Cache (for example: if “P3898” is included in the log entry or on a physical note attached to the trackable, that trackable will arrive at the Stargate P3898 TB Cache, Central Kansas, USA).

If the trackable is left without a valid Stargate address, or has an invalid address, it will be transported to a cache that best advances its goal (in the cache owner’s opinion), or denied access to the Stargate Network if no Stargate TB Cache advances its goals.

If a trackable owner doesn’t want their trackable to travel the Stargate network, quickly contact me (Beagle Team) and I’ll revoke its travelling orders. If the Cacher dropping off the trackable doesn’t want the trackable to travel the Stargate network, include this information in the cache log (both paper and web) and place the trackable in the local duties only ziplock. The trackable will be assigned local support duty.

Below is a list of known Stargate TB Caches. Stargate P4079 is the original Stargate cache, and as such may have newer information than this Stargate cache.

* Trackables travelling overseas, or to other countries, may require multiple wormhole trips to intermediate Stargates to complete their mission. Additionally, a Zero Point Module (ZPM) may be required. Logistics to arrange multiple trips and/or to secure a ZPM may take several weeks or more. If the Trackables' Commanding Officer (i.e., owner) does not want the Trackable to volunteer for such a lengthy, long-distance mission, just quickly contact Beagle Team and I will revoke the Trackables' travel orders and reassign the Trackable to local support duties (i.e., redirect the TB to local caches).

Anyone interested in establishing a Stargate TB Cache that’s at least 500 miles [800 km] from any other Stargate TB Cache please contactdrossdross.P4079

Please pick up only arriving Travel Bugs. That is, if you find a Travel Bug that is waiting for transport to another Stargate TB Cache, please leave it in the cache.

While this cache is themed to Travel Bugs, there still a log and trade goods to welcome all geocachers.

This cache is NOT a TB Hotel. Take as many TBs with local missions as you can reasonably help along. Leave as many TBs as you deem proper. DO NOT attempt one-for-one TB swaps, or trading anything for TBs for that matter. Normal trade rules apply for non-TB items.

While this cache is themed to Trackables, there still is a log book and swaps to welcome all Geocachers.

The longevity of this cache is going to be directly linked to how well each cache finder re-hides this cache (you’ll understand when you find it).  Please take a few minutes to do a world-class camouflage job after your find.

East Point

East Point Reserve is a special place for the people of Darwin and is one of the most popular recreation areas for both locals and visitors. Not only is the reserve readily accessible from both the city and suburbs, but its range of attractions is considerable and it is by far the largest park area in or near the city.

East Point Reserve covers almost 200 hectares, of which 30 hectares includes natural forest land. Its management and control was passed to the Darwin City Council in 1984. The reserve also boasts Dudley Point. Because of its military history, the uninterrupted sunsets and magnificent views of Darwin and Fannie Bay, this is a particularly popular area in the reserve.

The beaches on East Point Reserve are an important recreation resource. Fannie Bay Beach, with its adjacent parkland and barbecue area, is probably the most popular family beach in Darwin.

Dudley Point offers uninterrupted sunset views and is a popular observation area of Darwin City and Fannie Bay. It is recognised as a key tourist destination and is frequently enjoyed by local residents. Recent landscaping has established seating and shaded areas for sunset viewing.
