Geocache Description:

Cache is a very short walk from the most likely parking spot. Be careful where you park, and be careful of traffic, which although infrequent, not all drivers are mindful of cachers prowling around the corner. Watch out for your kids.

The cache is a small, approx 0.7L screw-top container, with a small collection of swaps, plus a log and pencil. For the First-to-find there is a small prize.

This site is just an excuse to draw people to a great view which is often overlooked.

Taipa is reportedly the landing site of Kupe, the great navigator and first finder of NZ, where he returned to on several occasions. The great migration of the Maori canoes followed in his footsteps. Kupe was one of the earliest cachers! Look for the monument in Taipa - it is by the State Highway just off the one-lane bridge.
