Geocache Description:

Stebbings Valley Dam

Cache is located near the Stebbings Valley detention dam. The dam is part of the Wellington region's flood control scheme and is designed to regulate the flow of water into the Porirua stream in periods of heavy rainfall. A similar dam exists  in Seton Nossiter park but is not so obvious as it also forms the motorway embankment.

Stebbings Valley itself  is earmarked for future residential development with the expansion of Churton Park from the south, and to eventually link with Tawa expansion in the north of the valley.

Small cache with room for geocoins and small TB's. This is a popular dog exercise area so mind your step.
