Wesley Dale (Northland) Traditional Cache
thedbees: I stopped in to check this one on my way through Kaeo, it is indeed missing. Archiving to make room in this area for someone else (or a future idea from me).

Cache location is near to the unsealed road through the local cemetery, flat around cache.
The reason to place the cache here is to draw visitors to the cairn which, though visible from the main road, is not always visited. This is the site of Wesley-Dale, New Zealand's first Wesleyan Mission station, established by Samuel Leigh and William White in 1823. The station was abandoned after a raid by warriors of Nga Puhi chief Hongi Hika. The cache container is a 250ml plastic screw-top containing a log, plus a range of small items for swapping. It is painted in camo colours. Please ensure it is covered with plant material when replacing. Be careful of the grassy bank, especially with small geo-kids.
