Geocache Description:

Four children resident in Blandswood (Peel Forest) lost their lives in a flash flood in 1975. The cache is near a stone erected in their memory. There is a car park right in front of the cache location.

Blandswood is a nice, peaceful spot with plenty of walkways and tramping tracks. Native birds are frequently seen and heard. Blandswood is located in Peel Forest Park, situated along the foothills of the Southern Alps. Tracks range from gentle bush walks of approx. 30 minutes duration, through to day hikes, all at least partly through the remnants of podocarp forest. Please check for details at the Information Centre in the Peel Forest township for more details.

A little stealth may be required due the nearby car park, but you shouldn't have to wait too long. The cache is a 500ml snaplock container painted in fashionable 'night time matt black'.
At the time it was placed, the cache contained logbook, pencil, pencil sharpener, cache note and an assortment of small swaps (scratchy ticket, pin, and some rubber insects).

There is room for small swaps. GPS accuracy was 7m at time of cache placement.
