The cache itself is hidden in the traditional WA hiding spot so shouldn't be that hard to find. Getting there might be a little more involved. If you go this cache from near GCJ9ZY you may have access problems on weekends and after 5:00 PM. The walk trail is closed at 5:00 PM weekdays [and possibly on weekends?]. Either way please respect the signs and only walk to this cache via the designated walk paths.
The cache is 2 litre bucket with a blue lid. Contains the usual range of swag, logbook and a token First to Find (FTF) prize for someone's collection or cache bag. The cache has been located here for two reasons. One to bring you a nice picnic and historical area. The walk to the cache should be informative. For those more adventurous and really we all should be, the opportunity is there to take a nice 7 km circuit walk finding this cache as well as GCY3NA and GCJ9ZY. The walk, Victoria Reservoir Walk, is graded 2 meaning it is an easy 7 km walk suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. Those interested can download a trail map and guide here.
A little history on the cache location. The old dam provided Perth's first public water supply and operated from 1891 to 1991. It was 23 m high and could hold 0.6 billion litres of water.
If you wish to make any comments please post a log or email me. Please log your find in the cache and on Geocaching.com. Please no hints or multiple logs, but please do leave a photo or two. Phone a friend is allowed, but hopefully not required.
