Heard Philadelphia Geocacher Chris's desperate cry for help on a recent podcacher show and realized that geocachers need to be reminded of the 12 steps to recovery from LPCs to kick the habit! ;>)
THIS IS NOT A LAME POST CACHE; IF SOMEONE PUT A LOG SHEET THERE, DISREGARD IT AND KEEP SEARCHING USING THE SIGNAL!
The 12 Suggested Steps of LPC Anonymous
1. We admitted we were powerless over LPCs--that our lives have become unmanageable.
2. Came to believe that great hides and a Geo-Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
3. Made a decision to turn our will and our geo-lives over to the care of the great admins as we understood THEM to be.
4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves and moved along geocoins or travel bugs in our possesion longer than 14 days.
5. Admitted to the Admin, ourselves, and fellow cachers the exact nature of our LPC wrongs.
6. Entirely ready to have the higher geo-power remove all caching defects and tendencies towards lifting skirts.
7. Humbly asked the geo-admin and the greater geo-community to guard us from shortcomings that inexplicably draw us to Wal-Mart and Target parking lots.
8. Made a list of all geocachers harmed with an LPC, and became willing to make amends to them by hiding better caches and making atones by trading down.
9. Made direct amends to such geocachers wherever possible, except, when to do so would injure them or others.
10. Continued to take geocaching inventory and promptly admit it when an LPC mistake was made.
11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with the higher Geo-Power, praying only for knowledge and cleverness to preclude falling into another LPC trap.
12. Having had a spiritual geo-awakening through great scenic hikes as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to all other LPC toting geocachers, and to practice these principles in all our geocaching affairs.
Log only micro; bring a pen to sign the log.
And if you have trouble signing the physical log, then don't log this cache as a find.
Happy Geocaching!
