This area drew the attention of many of the native peoples of the region. The cache is located in the riparian zone of the river. The cache is off-trail of the river trail. There is some overgrowth and some elevation changes. At times, it is difficult to get a good satellite signal. It is the coolest spot on this cool river in a cool area of the cool state of California!
Please respect the design of this cache and replace the cache to its exact placement. The design elements of the Cool Spot XX caches include: (1) bringing cachers to a unique area they would never have discovered on their own, (2) creating an adventuresome experience to access the cache location, (3) providing a challenging experience when discovering the hiding spot. The cache is 3-inch ABS pipe, thirteen-inches long. It is labeled GEO with red, two-inch letters. It is hidden out of sight and away from the people that visit the river. The cache site offers a unique view of this beautifully rugged river. The track heading south from the cache location offers a great starting point for an early morning hike along the river. A third cache container was reestablished 26, June 2016. The new cache contains a logbook only.
