Geocache Description:

More Mesa, closest access off of South Patterson Ave. Bluff edge trail.

This is the first cache placed in a series on More Mesa. This beautifull 300 acre open area is named after T. Wallace More. In More's day before the Railroad, Goleta Valley farmers needed a way to ship out their crops. In 1874 More built a wharf 1/2 mile East of the Goleta Slough to allow access for Steamers. More's wharf was 900 feet long and 35 feet wide. On a clear day you can see several of the Channel Islands, Including Santa Rosa, which was owned entirly by the More family by 1862. The Cache is a Camo painted Tupperware container.
